The Thing About Good Intentions…

I started last summer with the best of intentions. Despite, or maybe because of the pandemic, I was going to do ALL the things. We were in lockdown so there was plenty of time to redo the website and keep up with my blog. Yeah, well, if you look around here, neither of these happened.

The fact is the pandemic got to me–not physically. I did manage to avoid catching Covid—but mentally. The longer the crisis continued, the more depressed I got. My day job as a University professor did not settle back to its normal pre-pandemic craziness. It became exponentially worse. The move to the new house was the wildest of my 29 moves. Somewhere at the beginning of August, I realized that something needed to give for me to retain my sanity. What gave was the website design and regular blogging.

Fully vaccinated, I am back fresh this summer. 2021 is going to be different! I hope. Just kidding. My summer teaching schedule is the sanest I’ve had in years and I remembered to build in writing time. I even remembered to give myself time to work on blogs and the website.

Under the Harvest Moon is currently in major rewrite. After reading the feedback from my beta readers, what I thought was going to be a quick edit, turned into much more. That should be done by the end of summer. I’m still hoping it will be out by the end of the year, but it might be next spring. So sorry!

Look for blog posts about once a month as well as more regular newsletters.

Until the next time, stay safe and keep reading!
