True Confessions

I have a confession to make-I hate winter. All too often it is cold, wet, and grey. Don’t get me wrong, a day here or there of that weather is fine. Just not four solid months of it. Winter is one of the reasons why I continue to live in the deep South. We don’t have much of it-normally. Sadly, we have been in its icy grips lately. Temperatures have been in the teens and single digits. All I want to do is wrap up in a warm blanket and cuddle with a cat or five. I really need a warm vacation.

I was supposed t get that warm “vacation”- a conference actually, but held at the beach- later this month. Unfortunately, with Omicron surging, it has been cancelled for this year. I am terribly disappointed, even though I completely understand and agree. Mom and I talked about going down and just staying at the hotel but decided it was too dicey.

My second confession is that the writing on Under the Frost Moon is not going well. I had hoped that the flow would come once the Spring Semester started but that has not happened. I just want to hibernate. The day job continues to throw curve balls. My time and creative energy are sapped. I am still writing. The progress is much slower than I’d hoed or planned.

It isn’t all bad news though! I have found a wonderful editor. She is currently hard at work on line edits for Under the Harvest Moon. I also have a cover designer. This is very exciting. Hopefully we can do a cover reveal next month. Early mock-ups have me squealing with delight.
